Details: On the occasion of the one hundredth and twenty-fifth anniversary of Our Lady of the Rosary Church (established in 1883) that also houses the St. Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton Shrine in the landmark James Watson House (1792), this symposium, in conjunction with the Pace University History Department, will feature speakers addressing the rich history of this NYC site.

Details: Catholics in New York - 1808 through 1946 at Museum of City of New York. The Museum of the City of New York located at 1220 Fifth Avenue, New York City, will present an exhibition, Catholics in New York 1808-1946 , on the occasion of the commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Archdiocese of New York. The exhibition will tell the story of how the Catholic community grew over the course of a century and a half, gaining a political voice, creating a set of institutions that reshaped New York, and facing and overcoming prejudice. The exhibition begins May 16th and runs through December 31st. The hours of the Museum are Tuesday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm. Details: Grammy-Award nominee Gail Archer, America’s premier professional female contemporary organist, devotes a season-long concert series to the 100th birthday of French composer/organist Olivier Messiaen (1908-1992). In honor of one of the greatest organist composers of all time, Archer takes us on a Messiaen musical journey exploring all six of his complete organ works, while showcasing six of Manhattan’s superior church organs starting January 13th with Nativite'du Seigneur at Church of the Heavenly Rest and ending May 29th with Livre du Saint Sacrement at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Known for complementing Messiaen works with technical prowess, Archer continues her dedication by serving as the only organist to perform his works on six different instruments throughout New York City. The Sisters of Charity of New York are sponsoring this new summer program which offers young women 18-21 years of age, a chance to live and work with the Sisters in their ministries to the poor. Details: World Youth Day (WYD) is the largest youth event in the world and will be held in Sydney from Tuesday 15 to Sunday 20 July 2008. Organised by the Catholic Church, WYD brings together young people from around the globe to celebrate and learn about their faith on a more regular basis. WYD08 will be the largest event Australia has ever hosted. It will attract over 125,000 international visitors - more than the 2000 Olympics. WYD08 will mark the first visit of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI to Australia. Through the WYD08 experience, young people from throughout the world will make a pilgrimage in faith, meet, and experience the love of God. World Youth Day is an invitation from the Pope to the youth of the world to celebrate their faith around a particular theme. Everyone is welcome to attend.
